The Future Of UK Roads

Year after year we pay out for our online car insurance and our road tax and year after year we have to watch the conditions of the road deteriorating. So where is all the money generated from our road tax actually going?

It seems that the current government doesn't believe that it should be to blame for the condition of the UK roads. Labour and Tony Blair believe that they inherited a poor road system from the conservatives. But a recent BBC documentary discovered that the UK's roads are in a worse condition that they have been for a decade.

The documentary actually features numerous cases of accidents on the roads being directly related to the condition of the road surfaces. The fact is that the state of the roads is now beyond a joke and the BBC actually documented people loosing their lives due to the state of the roads.

So what is our government going to do about it? Apparently they are developing new speed cameras that will fit into the cats eyes on the road in an attempt to catch more speeding drivers.

When will they listen and wake up to what is happening around them? We don't need more speed cameras on the road issuing fines, penalty points and pushing up online car insurance costs. We need more police officers that can police the roads in the areas that they are needed and we need the government to stop concentrating on revenue and focus on bringing England's roads systems back up to scratch.
