Angry (Quality) Motor insurance firms are claiming that the police are are failing to tackle an eightfold increase in smash and grab attacks on motorists

Many motorists have also vented their anger at the police. In a resent poll 80% out of 1,050 motorists, claimed that the police were more interested in catching speeding drivers than tackling car crime.
Attacks on motorists have sharply increased, the report claims, and now account for one in 12 incidents.
"Car crime figures may be coming down year-on-year, but crooks are becoming increasingly bold," motor insurance spokesman Nigel Doggett told Autotrader.
"It's no wonder when today's portable technology means that motorists are sitting ducks for smash and grab attacks."

The number of laptop thefts doubled over the year up to October and nearly 26,000 sat-nav systems were stolen over the same period.A quarter of motorists don't have an alarm fitted to their vehicle while a tenth said they hadn't set their alarm before their car was robbed.

It is very important that motorist do not leave any thing on show inside their cars. As motorist groups claim that over 50% of all smash and grab car theft is not reported.
