Insurance Premiums dependant on post codes

A recent survey revealed that car owners live in Inner-city London pay the highest premiums in the UK .

Motorist who live within EC post pay the highest premiums for comprehensive car insurance, it is reported that they have to pay an average of over £700 per year. While the average for the rest of London is just over £500, when this is compared with the national average which is just £369 the price difference becomes all to clear.

Unexpectedly motorist who live close to Oxford street in the West-End, get the best deal paying on average just over £260 for their car insurance premium.

If even you live in a relatively affluent area you may still be subject to paying higher premiums. The reason for this is that insurance companies often put affluent areas in the same category as lees affluent, which can be some what confusing at times. As it is possible to have one family living a low crime area, but they are only living a few roads away from a family that lives in a high crime, but under the post code system they would pay the same premium.

Other factors are taken into account when deciding on the premium is, how close you live to nightlife and transport.
